Tandem steer component.

I've been looking at the front suspension/steering setup on the Speed Demon and can't ID the part circled on red.

Is it a bellow of sorts?.

In a video I watched it looked different but it may have been changed.

Anyone have an idea what it is?.

That's a question for Dan Warner.  He knows the steering arrangement on that car and has I think, worked on others with similar steering.  Dan - over to you, sir. :-D

Not sure what it is in the picture, but I was thinking it would make a good place for a very small air bag for an air ride front suspension system. (This is just an idea..I'm also waiting for Dan)

After enlarging the picture (a lot) it would appear the suspension arm motion is limited by suspending it between a pair of rubber bushings? :? :?

my bet would be-- a combo friction shock steering damper/bell crank that drives the repeater to the rear wheel this repeater is most likely not quite 1 to one so that the arc of the two wheels are concentric,

That is the suspension for the front wheel. It is a rubber cone set up mounted top & bottom on the end of the trailing arm.
The same as Thrust II & they took that idea from the Austin Mini.

Since the linkage on the other side of the bell crank looks to be the same distance out from the pivot point I'd guess that the linkage goes back to the arm on the rear front tire spindle like the one we can see on this side,

Dang it, the photo I'm looking for must be in the laptop at the store, not here at the house.  Someplace I do have a shot of Dan working on the front suspension of the Speed Demon after George made a fast pass and the tires were hurt as the rubbed together -- after expanding because of the speed and centrifugal (or is it centripedal in this case?) force.  Whatever -- it does show details.  Maybe I can find it tomorrow when I'm at work.

 On Betsy the bellcrank was between the wheels & didn't use the long primary drag link.

Guys, Tom Burkland emailed me links to some great pictures of the setup.

He also described the system. It's a rubber bushing for compliance.
