I couldn't believe my eyes last weekend. Every year the Earl of March opens up his stately home in Sussex, England to the public, and vintage / historic etc. cars & bikes do timed runs up his drive, between the 30 bedroom main house & his cricket pitch. Seriously.
Tony Thacker roared up in the '32, upset a few purists but delighted the vast majority there. A fantastic sight. I'm pleased to say I got a bunch of shots today, and they're all uploaded to my usual sites :

Looking forward to Bonneville again in August - I'll be there on the morning of the 15th, and I'd love to set up shoots with any interesting vehicles there over those couple of days. Drop me a line if you're interested.

The Kugel/LeFevers Firebird #265 was also at Goodwood this year, Jerry wanted to drive it up the driveway hill climb but thought better of it after looking at a couple of turns and thinking about the 2.29:1 rear gear. !, 200 hp might have been fun for though.

Well,  Babs ran up the hill  - a genuine WLSR holder.

A lot of the cars make 'demonstration' runs rather than competitive timed runs.  Three or four years ago someone was killed in a Formula 1 Lotus 63 and since then the Formula 1, Indianapolis, and other really potent cars have only run 'demonstrations'
Oh Lord, please help me to keep my big mouth shut until I know what I am talking about
