Always thought that year (61, 62?) Dodge was certainly "unique" looking.  Didn't realize 'til today that it somewhat resembled a big Lancer.  Pretty darn fast!  What size was B then?

Stan,
   Unique is being kind, it was butt ugly. It was a 62, 413 cu in with the Ramcharger option package. Bone stock except for tires and rear end gear. We actually exceeded the old record but Norm Thatcher bumped it up to 164.

Here's the Dincau brothers and Logan entry of 1962. Drove it to Wendover and home, went 152.

Thats the way to race Bonneville, drive to and back at least once. We made sure to do "the drive" on our first race trip out with our VW for the July USFRA event's 130 MPH Club. We did not go near as fast as you, just a 105, but the journey was every thing we had dreamed!

A month later at Speedweek with "the big motor" and in full competition trim we managed to reach 131 mph. Did not drive it on that trip.

I do remember more than one run by a competitor whose chute was out and he didn't know it.  Kinda fun to watch - and even more fun to talk to the driver afterwards, as he's getting out of the car and wondering WTF - why couldn't I pull the engine up any faster?  Was the rear end just way too long a gear?

We made it to the 1 once with the interior injector cover on.  Wouldn't pull well in 3rd gear.

Dick Beith bought the little 'liner around 1964 and raced it for a few years. Today it is in Dennis Varni's collection. Below is a magazine pic of Dick with the 64/65 version. Funny, but just last week he received a request for an autographed photo of the two together.

That '29 Mercury  tudor (Post 2095) would make a great hooch hauler.

It would be unlikely that the Law could identify the tires tread patterns.

That driveway that he washed it on is H U G E !!

He missed some area on the radiator.

The salt was packed into the radiator -- I couldn't figure out why it was the first time it ever almost overheated.

Sit there and have another pink one and let it cool off.
